How much do tribute bands cost

Prices will also differ according to the package or options selected. Bigger or bespoke shows, with additional band members or dancers will cost more. Adding on services such as a DJ or disco, or extra PA or lighting equipment may also increase the price. Prices vary widely but here is a rough guide to the typical ranges, exclusive of VAT:. See our Essential Tips below for information on booking terms and conditions. Before they even attend your event, band members will have spent many hours in the rehearsal studio and on individual practice.

They also have equipment, clothing and marketing costs, travel and set up time. Bands need to factor these things in, on top of their actual performance time. Since the prices do vary widely, we highly recommend getting in touch with your chosen performers for a completely free, no-obligation quote. Two x minute or two x minute sets is typical, although bands will do their best to tailor this to your requirements.

If your event is due to last all day, you can speak to the band and agree on a schedule together. Extra or longer performances will cost more so keep an eye on your budget. If a band is headlining, they might play one set of minutes.

Many live bands can offer acoustic sets as well as a full band lineup, or will have the facility to play recorded music through the PA using a laptop. Either way, your guests can enjoy some background music during dinner or in between sets and this will be cheaper than hiring multiple acts.

Will the band need a stage and if so, what size? Will you need extra room for a DJ or host? Is there room for equipment such as speakers? Is the room big enough for all of your guests? Is there a dance floor? Is there parking and easy access, allowing the band to unload and set up in good time?

Bands will generally be more comfortable and put on a better show when they have plenty of room in which to perform. We recommend using the following guidelines to ensure that your stage is the right size for your band measurements given are Width x Depth :.

The above space guidelines do not include room for PA systems, speakers and lighting stands, so extra space will need to be allowed for these. Specific stage requirements may be laid out in your contract.

If in doubt, check with the band when you book that the venue you have in mind is suitable. One important thing to consider, especially when booking a live band, is whether or not there are noise restrictions or sound limiters at the venue. Check this out beforehand to avoid any issues on the night. While not all bands expect the luxury of a fully-fitted dressing room, they will need a lockable room, somewhere away from the guests, to get changed, warm up and relax in between sets, ideally with enough seats for all the band members and a mirror.

Bands will often make do with a small room such as a back office. If in doubt, check with the band. There should also be access to toilets and and the band should know where to get water, hot and cold drinks and food. The band are likely to come in a van and will need somewhere to park. If possible, try and ensure easy access at the front of the venue to park and unload, this will ensure the band can get in and get set up quickly.

Popular tribute bands can get booked up months, or even years, in advance. So, get your booking in nice and early! Most bands will need minutes for set up and sound check, and will require three or four amp power sockets near to the stage area.

At the end of the night, they usually take around 45 minutes to pack down and load out. Most tribute bands provide their own instruments, PA system, amplifiers, basic stage lighting and a laptop or iPod to play background music in between sets.

The PA will usually be suitable for up to people. For larger events, you or the venue may need to provide this, along with lighting. Top tribute bands may have a list of hospitality and technical requirements, known as a rider, which you will have to provide at your own expense.

Many Tribute Bands can provide a Disco and DJ service and this can work out cheaper than hiring separate services. Musicians may have travelled some distance to get to your event and have a long night ahead. A proper meal, or buffet food, should be provided, especially for bands performing in the evening. Ideally this will be before they perform.

Soft drinks, tea and coffee should be on tap, free of charge. These will usually be included in the quote you are given, as the band will need to calculate their travel costs, especially if they are travelling some distance. Thankfully this rarely happens, but in the unlikely event that, due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances, the band is unable to perform for you as agreed, they will usually have a back-up plan and be able to send a similar band in their place, at no extra cost to you.

For confirmation of this, you can check the Terms and Conditions of the contract you sign with the band. If you are in the unlucky position of having to cancel your event, there will be a cancellation fee. The amount payable is likely to increase the closer it gets to the date in question. These conditions should be laid out in the contract you receive when booking, so check before signing. Ideally, the band that you hire will have Public Liability Insurance.

This covers the band in the event of a claim, should any members of the public or guests be injured at your event, or any damage be caused to property. Alternative Tribute Artists : We can suggest alternative tributes that may be less costly than the original one you want. Those can be tributes to artists who were popular around the same time as the original artist in mind. Finding a tribute to a solo artist or duo, for instance, will be cheaper than finding a tribute act for the Eagles or Beatles.

Depending on their band needs, they can be significantly cheaper than a tribute to a group. Acoustic Performance : Instead of paying for the whole tribute band, we may be able to find the tribute artist you want but doing his own accompaniment or with only one or two band members. Leave the band home and listen to an acoustic version of the songs. Actually, an acoustic version of a tribute artist turns out to be a more intimate affair. Depending on the mood you want for your party, an acoustic set may or may not be what you want.
