She is informed that she cannot have more than two tenants in her house, and one must leave. To prevent this, Blanche decides to sell parts of her house to the girls, so they become owners. The girls claim that this is the best solution since they have known each other for seven years. Blanche is a character known for boasting about all the great things in her life. She boasts often about how she was smart enough to marry a wealthy man, unlike the other girls.
She also says that George's wealth is how they were able to afford her house in Miami. When George appears in her dream, he references being a rich man, too, proving that Blanche did not make this up. So, why does she have to rent out her house to pay the mortgage after more than three decades of living in the house?
